This is dedicated solely to the funny things my kids do and say that make me laugh every day... and maybe when they're older I can use some of these stories to embarrass them :)

Dakota teasing

We were driving home together as a family from a night out to dinner. Dakota says, "Mom, do you know how much I love you?" Me: "How much?" Dakota: "A hundred-million airplanes in the sky!!" Me: "Wow that's a lot!" Dakota: "That's because I like you a lot, and I love you." Me: "I love you as big as the sky!" Pause.... Dakota: "Dad, do you know how tiny I love you?" Doug: (uh-oh) "How tiny?" Dakota: "3" Doug: "Three airplanes in the sky?" Dakota: "That's pretty much none." Doug: :( "Great...." Dakota: "Because I don't like you as much." (insult to injury) Me: "Dakota, that's not very nice, you love your Dad, don't you?" burst of giggling... Dakota: "Yeah, I was just TEASING!!" followed by continuous giggling. Doug and I were giggling pretty hard ourselves.

Oakley's prayer

Prayer 2 Another day at lunch, Oakley was blessing the food. He said "please bless monkey a fell down and bonk a head... and please bless Spencer and a water gun"... I was busting a gut by the time the prayer was over. Such a funny and sweet kid! Prayer 1 Oak loves to say the prayer at meal time. The other day at lunch he volunteered. We were having turkey sandwiches for lunch. "Dear Heavenly Father, thank for mom and dad. Thank you for Koda and Ryden. Thank you for cheese and turkey say gobble-gobble. Please bless the food. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." Such a sweet prayer. I was so touched that he named off every member of our family and then I couldn't help but chuckle when he said gobble-gobble. LOL. Good little boy. And a pretty darn good prayer if you ask me!

I do want Kindle

Oakley is obsessed with the iPad and my Kindle Fire. He knows how to navigate them and play all the games. He asks to play with them constantly. The other morning he asked me about 20 times in a row if he could play with the Kindle. It sounds like... "Mom, I do want to pway candle..." My response: "Okay Oak, just a minute, I need to get Ryden dressed and then I will get you the Kindle." He continued to make the same statement over and over as I was changing Ryden. I was getting sick of hearing it and frustrated. I finally said, "Oak, I heard you. I will get the Kindle as soon as I'm done getting Ryden dressed. Now say, 'Okay mom, I will be patient.'" Oakley replies, "Okay mom... I do want Kindle." Just when I thought he was getting it.... Oh well. He tried.

Toothpaste

Oakley came in while I was cleaning the bathroom and found his toothbrush. He asked to "bruff a teef". So I quickly ran the toothbrush under some water and handed it to him so I could get back to what I was doing. A second later, after putting the brush in his mouth, he says, "Hey! Mooooom(disappointed tone).... I meed a soap!" I then taught him it's called 'toothpaste'. :)
